Thank you to everyone who supported Don’t You Want Me Baby: the Trouble with Love & Power, an evening of stories at The Parkway Theater in Minneapolis on October 1, 2019. Thank you to an incredible cast who absolutely fulfilled my vision, and then some.
This event came out of a personal need to define love. That lead me to want to address how we meaningfully and culturally deal with mental illness, trauma, inequality and privilege. It was ambitious, and it took a lot from the audience to join this endeavor. I am grateful for everyone who supported this event and came along for the ride.
“I tell my students, When you get these jobs that you have been so brilliantly trained for, just remember that your real job is that if you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else. This is not just a grab-bag candy game.” – Toni Morrison
Hard for the Money: Stories of Women, Work & Satisfaction was an evening of stories also at The Parkway on October 1, 2018. Producer introductory and concluding narratives are at the links below.
